READING EDGE ACADEMY
Reading Edge Academy Dolphins
The Academy serves children in grades Kindergarten through fifth.

The Four Research-based Concepts
The Academy is dedicated to launching children's academic careers with success, confidence, and a love for reading.
The program of the school is built upon the following four research-based concepts:
1. Success
No goal of reform is as important as seeing that all children start off their school careers with success, confidence, and a firm foundation in reading.
2. Strategies
Since, after third grade, children generally perform at a similar level of quality for the rest of their academic career, the time for assessing children's progress and needs and designing appropriate educational strategies to help them must come during the critical years before fourth grade.
3. Children are Unique
Each child is a unique person with an individual pattern and timing of growth, therefore, the children must be allowed to move at their own pace in acquiring important skills including those of writing, reading, math, social studies, science, art, music, health, and physical activity.
4. The Moral Imperative
If we know that those children who fall significantly behind in reading before the third grade are unlikely to catch up with their peers, clearly there exists a moral imperative to assure every child the instruction needed to achieve fluent reading in the first four years of school.
